There is nothing as soft and smooth as a baby's skin. When you snuggle up your little one in a towel after bath time, you want to know that the towel is not only soft for their sensitive skin, but also clean. Most towels look clean to the naked eye, but what about potential microbes that could lurk within those fluffy weaves of fabric? This is where Bamboo Towels come to the rescue.

    Bamboo bath towels are antibacterial

    Bamboo kun

Did you know that the bamboo plant does not need to be treated? It’s natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties protect it from plant diseases in the wild, which is what makes bamboo so environmentally friendly because these properties remain in the plant even after being processed into fabric.

    Structure of bamboo

Scientists have studied bamboo textiles to see if the claims about the antibacterial property are true. They found that bamboo textiles have a unique structure called that makes it very difficult for microbes to survive. A fluffy bamboo towel is like a vast dry desert for microbes. Test were done at the China Textile Industry Testing Centre where they introduced bacteria (staphylococcus Aureus) onto bamboo cloth to see what would happen. After 24 hours there was a 99.8% reduction in the number of bacteria.

Some scientists are not sure if it is the structure of bamboo or the kun that provides the antibacterial properties. But as parents, we can agree that peace of mind comes from using a towel where we know it’s hard for bacteria to survive.

    Bamboo bath towels are hypoallergenic

When your baby’s soft skin is struggling with an eczema outbreak, you need to avoid any possible allergens. Allergies create outbreaks and keep the skin from healing properly. The good news is that bamboo is hypoallergenic, which means it contains nothing that causes allergic reactions. Some babies react to residual chemicals from the fabric making process, but luckily bamboo does not need any chemical treatments when processing the fabric.

Smooth bamboo fibers are good for soft skin

Using soft fabrics on baby’s that struggle with skin conditions is also an important way to prevent outbreaks. Rough fabric can actually cause teeny tiny scratches on sensitive skin, whereas a soft fabric is smooth and will not cause these microscopic scratches. Babies with sensitive skin need soft fabric.

Have you ever bought a wonderfully soft polyester blanket, only to have it turn scratchier and scratchier after every washing? Washing bamboo towels actually makes them softer and softer. So you can rest easy knowing this towel will last a long time without becoming a stiff, scratchy mess doomed to the rag pile.
