Julia Hu is one of our favorite interior decorators based out of San Diego, California. Her style and aesthetic is clean, minimal, and super cute! She's also a new mama to Baby Mason and she was kind enough to share some of her top tips for decorating a newborn's nursery after revamping her own!
Tip #1 - Invest in Pieces You Really Love
Invest in pieces you really love but also affordable pieces that might want to swap out here and there. For example, we have some staple pieces like our crib, our dresser and our nursery chair but at the same time we also purchase accessories that aren't too expensive so that when we want to change that up we're able to do that in an affordable way.

Tip #2 - Personalise Your Nursery
Personalizations add that unique touch. For example, we put up our baby's name on the back of our wall as well as some toys that also have his personalised name on it so that it makes it a bit more special when it comes to your baby's nursery.

Tip #3 - Have Pieces That Your Baby Can Grow Up In
It's important to invest in pieces that your baby can grow up with. For example, our crib is a baby's crib but when he gets a little bit older we can convert it into a toddler bed as well. Look for pieces that you can see yourself using not only in that short amount of time because babies grow up so quickly, so it's really nice to purchase items that have longevity. For example, we have a dresser that we use as our diaper changing station so instead of buying an actual diaper changing station, we have an area on top of our dresser where we can add a pad for diaper changing and when he doesn't need it anymore, it can be reverted back to a dresser.

We hope these tips will be helpful for when you start thinking about decorating your own baby's nursery!
