Let's travel to Ireland to meet Finley, our August Bean Of The Month! Finley is ten-months-old has the sweetest smile. He's growing up sprinkled with adventures, sunshine, and love...truly a lucky baby with awesome parents! Thanks to Mummy Siobhan (@siobhandumigan) for sharing her favourite places to visit in Ireland and her thoughtful motherhood tips.
TWB: Where are you from and can you tell us a little bit more about your family?
@siobhandumigan: I am half Irish and half Chinese, born and grew up in Hong Kong. My husband is American, moved to to Hong Kong when he was nine and grew up there too. We just moved to Ireland last year.
TWB: What is your favourite product from The Wee Bean and why?
@siobhandumigan: My mother and father in-law still live in Hong Kong on Lamma Island. My mother in-law came to visit us last month and brought us so many amazing Wee Bean gifts - toys, blankets, onesies and bibs. We especially love the onesies. They are so cute, comfortable and handy. Easy to put on, easy to wash and reminds us of the city we love and all our favourite foods!
TWB: What are your must-have items that you would recommend for first time moms?
@siobhandumigan:The Silverette Nursing Cups for breast feeding mothers, a peri bottle for those tender first few weeks, a baby carrier wrap, a convenient changing table set up and a cozy baby blanket.
TWB: What is your favourite activity with your baby?
@siobhandumigan:Being in nature and singing with him.
TWB: What are the most baby-friendly places to go in your city?
@siobhandumigan:We love the libraries! They have special days for Toddler and Parent Groups and Baby Book Clubs too.
TWB: After a long day, what’s your favourite way to unwind?
@siobhandumigan:To do some stretches and stroke our doggies.
TWB: Your best tip/advice on motherhood?
@siobhandumigan:It’s the most beautiful time, but also restless. All you can do is take it one moment at a time. Mothers are amazing beyond words. Trust your intuition. You grew and birthed your baby. You know your baby best. Create a support system that you can rely on - it really does take a village to raise a child. Your baby needs you at your best, so make sure to take a break for self care even if it is as simple as a slightly longer shower everyday. Last but not least, throw guilt out the window. You have enough to deal with mama and you are doing your best. That’s all your baby needs, to rest in your love.
