Say hello to our November Bean of the Month, Baby Teejay! Mommy Mavis and Daddy Tyson are based in Australia, but Mommy is from HK and misses all the delicious local food! She's able to share her love and nostalgia of HK food with Baby Teejay, even though they are an 8 hour flight away! Thank you to the Shaw family for sharing these pics, and read on to find out why Teejay was a miracle baby...
TWB:Can you give us a brief intro about your family and where you are from?
I’m from Hong Kong and her Dad (Tyson) is Aboriginal Australian. Teejay is our little rainbow baby after two miscarriages and when I was about to lose hope of having kid, she came along and completed our family.
TWB: What The Wee Bean items did you buy/get gifted and how do you like our products?
Oh where do I begin? The whole Taste of Hong Kong Collection! I can’t even describe my excitement when I first found out about The Wee Bean and I basically just brought everything! The whole collection brings back lots of childhood memories to me and gives me a sense of home while I’m in Australia, and the most important part is how good the quality is, so soft and gentle on my baby!
TWB: What items do you recommend for first-time moms?
Bibs and swaddles! You never have enough of those! A waterproof change mat coz they tend to do another wee (or poop sometimes as well) the second you take their nappy off and don’t worry about getting those fancy change mat sheets unless you want to do washing everyday.
TWB: What's your favourite activity to do with your baby?
@mavyshaw:I love singing both English and Cantonese lullabies to Teejay!
TWB: Best baby-friendly places to go to in your city?
@mavyshaw: We love our local Botanic Garden where we can walk around and have a picnic.
TWB: What's one tip you have for all the new mommies/daddies out there?
@mavyshaw: Don’t be so hard on yourself! Your child doesn’t need a perfect mum but a happy mum! I was so stressed about every little thing the first two weeks and Teejay definitely picked up my stress which caused me more stress, it was a vicious cycle.
*Bean of the Month Series*- Every month, we select a baby to feature as our Bean of the Month and this special little Bean will receive a prize of HK$50 off their next purchase.
We're absolutely thrilled to introduce our September Bean Of The Month, Hugo Ollie, who is already stealing hearts left and right at 7-months old. Hailing from the picturesque Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Hugo's family is nothing short of remarkable, with four golden retrievers, a tuxedo cat, and his 11-year-old big brother, Ronan. That's quite a unique family dynamic, and the love between the boys and their pets is simply heartwarming.
You might have seen muslin cloth in a variety of places, from high-fashion runways to your local baby clothing store. But what is muslin, and why is muslin clothing so well-loved? Muslin is a type of finely woven cotton fabric, known for its lightness, softness, and breathability. This fabric is a favorite in many industries due to its versatility and durability. It's the fabric of choice for designers, parents, and homemakers alike, but why?
