Bean Of The Month - May 2023

Meet this pair of enchanting little miracles, our May Beans of the month, Eliza and Leia, who are raised in the vibrant country - Singapore. These precious babies, like two dazzling stars in the night sky, shared an unbreakable bond from the moment they entered this world. As they explore the wonders of life side by side, their infectious giggles will surely captivate your heart. Thank you, Daddy Shaun (@ohtwinss) for sharing their heartwarming story and their wonderful experience with our brand.

TWB: Where are you from? And can you tell us a little bit more about your family?  

@ohtwinss: My wife and I were born and raised in Singapore! We both work in the community and healthcare sector. We got married in 2021 during the pandemic lockdowns, moved into our own place in 2022 and welcomed the twins in June of the same year. We’ve both taken turns going on long term leave from our jobs to care for our twins and to establish that bond between parent and child!

TWB: What is your favourite product from The Wee Bean and why?

@ohtwinss: My wife and kids’ favourite products are the Organic Cotton Bandana Bibs. We received them as a gift from a close friend because we kept feeding the kids without bibs and made a huge mess of their clothes every meal time. Now, every time they wear the Dim Sum set bibs, the parents are the ones who get hungry. Not only are they great at meal times, the bibs also soak up copious amounts of saliva and prevent their onesies from getting wet. My favourite product, on the other hand, is the Bubble Tea Rattle Doll because it's cute and I love bubble tea. But unfortunately, my wife says that I’m not the target consumer and won’t buy it for me.

TWB: What are your must-have items that you would recommend for first time moms?

@ohtwinss: A comfortable baby carrier goes a long way. Typically with one child, the mother would buy and pick out a carrier that suits her. In our case, I had to get a carrier for myself, as we each had to carry a child. With a good carrier, adjusted to my height and size, I don’t get backaches and sore shoulders while running errands with the baby. A good-size backpack with all the necessities and extra space on top, to store anything the wife buys, is another essential. This frees up time spent repacking every time you leave the house. Just replenish as needed when you return home.

@ohtwinss:There are many amazing places in Singapore that kids can enjoy! Since our country is so small, we can travel anywhere within an hour. Sentosa has many beaches, restaurants, and activities that are baby- and stroller-friendly. The Sea Aquarium in Sentosa is our favourite place to bring them because of all the cute reactions they have to all the different marine life.

TWB: After a long day, what’s your favourite way to unwind?

@ohtwinss:We like to listen to music together after a day of work or a weekend out with the kids. The twins will shake and dance to the music, which gives us a great laugh.

TWB: Your best tip/ advice on fatherhood?

@ohtwinss: Husband first, father second. Don’t let the kids be a source of conflict in your marriage. Take care of your spouse and love her more every day.
