We are thrilled to feature a wonderful family that has been a loyal fan of our brand since the beginning. We are proud to announce that we have selected a pair of Beans of the Month, 5-week old newborn Caspian Bean and his charming and curious older brother Theodore Bean! Originally from England, this family now calls Dubai home. We are delighted to document their special family moments and create memories that they will treasure for years to come. Thank you, Mommy Rachel (@rachelashcroft) for sharing their heartwarming story and their wonderful experience with our brand.

March Bean of the month

Meet the adorable Caspian Bean and Theodore Bean who just took up his new role as a big brother!

TWB: Where are you from? And can you tell us a little bit more about your family?

@rachelashcroft: My husband and I are from the north of England. However, we’ve now lived outside of the UK for nearly ten years. After leaving Hong Kong in 2020, we relocated to Dubai in the UAE, where we have been for the last 18 months. I am a teacher and my husband has his own marketing company which focuses on sustainability.

March Beans of the Month and Family

Meet the beautiful family!

TWB: What is your favourite product from The Wee Bean and why?

@rachelashcroft: The bibs! They’re super absorbent and of course, very cute! I love all the Hong Kong/Asian designs and patterns, as I miss Hong Kong a lot, and it’s a lovely little reminder.

TWB: What are your must-have items that you would recommend for first time moms?

@rachelashcroft: A snug ‘Sleepyhead’ (or Dock A Tot as they’re now called) for your baby to nap in. I also swear by white noise, so the Skip Hop white noise owl is an absolute must! Basically anything that promotes sleep is a must-have for me!

TWB: What is your favourite activity with your baby?

@rachelashcroft:Now that my baby is a little bigger, we love using the Jumparoo together as a family. We’ll pop some music on, and then my eldest will dance for his baby brother in front of the Jumparoo, making it look like they’re dancing together. It’s hilarious and ridiculously cute all at the same time! We also love going swimming, as I think the water is a beautiful sensory experience for my baby - again, this is something we can do as a whole family, which I’ve learnt is really important with baby No. 2.

TWB: What are the most baby-friendly places to go in your city?

@rachelashcroft: In Dubai, we’re incredibly lucky as there’s so much to do for children and babies. But my favourite two places are OliOli and Tr88house for their soft-plays and experiential learning areas. We also love going for walks around our community, as we have an animal sanctuary here - staring at the chickens and ducks can kill a good hour or two!

TWB: After a long day, what’s your favourite way to unwind?

@rachelashcroft: Nothing glamorous at all! Some chocolate and a documentary on TV are my ideas of a dream night in!

TWB: Your best tip/advice on motherhood?

@rachelashcroft:Try to remember that everything is a phase. I know that when I had my first, I felt that at times I was mourning my previous life (no more nights out in LKF!) and that I would never do anything apart from change nappies and breastfeed ever again. This of course, isn’t the case and it does get easier with time. It’s so important to be kind to yourself and find a little half an hour or so a day just for you if you can. Whether that’s going for a walk, reading, or listening to music - it’s so important you prioritise yourself during this time as well - happy mum, happy baby!
